Our Testimony
Johnny’s Salvation Testimony:
I was raised in a Christian home where my family attended Bible
Baptist Church in Dumas, TX, Pastor G. A. (Jerry) Clark.
When I was twelve years old the Lord began to convict my
heart of my sinful condition and need of salvation. On June
10, 1980, at the Pot ‘O Gold Youth Camp, I believed
on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation. The next Sunday night
I was baptized by Pastor Clark.
Stacy’s Salvation Testimony:
I was saved as a bus kid at Bible Baptist Church in Dumas,
TX. I remember during Sunday School that day the Lord convicted
me of my sin and after class my teacher led me to the Lord.
Later as a teenager, while living in Weatherford, OK, I went
forward for reassurance of salvation and was baptized at
the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Our Call
In 1988, Johnny and Stacy surrendered their lives to the Lord
Jesus Christ to follow Him wherever He would lead them. Two
years later they had the privilege of taking a missions trip
to Kenya, Africa. It was there that the Lord burdened their
hearts to surrender as missionaries to Africa.
Now after fifteen years of preparation in the ministry, the
Lord has called them to serve in Ghana, Africa. They are excited
and humbled by this high calling from God. Thank you for taking
the time to consider their ministry.
Our Experience
Johnny graduated from Baptist Bible College with a B.A. in
Missions, May 1992. Stacy completed two years of Missions training
at BBC.
For the past ten years the Lord has given Johnny the privilege
of pastoring the Liberty Baptist Church in Dalhart, Texas.
At LBC the Lord has allowed their family to experience many
wondrous blessings. It would take several volumes to share
all of the valuable lessons that they have learned about the
Lord, the ministry, and working with people.
Some of the highlights of their ministry at LBC include the
following:
- Four men surrendering to preach the Gospel– three
in training; one our church has ordained and is a pastor
at Fellowship
Baptist Church in Spearman, TX.
- Buying 3.5 acres of land and dedicating a new church facility.
- Starting a mission church in Clayton,NM., called the Harvest
Baptist Church, now pastored by Dennis Guffey.
- Watching our church develop a vision for sending out the
Gospel through faith promise missions giving.
All we can say is, “To God be the glory, great
things He has done.”
Our Goals
We will be working alongside of veteran missionaries, Larry & Linda
Morgan (sent out by Spring Valley Baptist Church), in Takoradi.
The Lord has greatly blessed this missions work and the need
for laborers is great!
A mission church has been established along with a Bible
Institute, radio ministry, correspondence ministry, village
missions and a girl’s home. Our common
goals include organizing Independent Bible Baptist Church, establishing our own
radio station, training preacher’s and their wives in the Bible Institute,
and starting a Christian school.
My personal goals for the first term on the field include
learning the culture and the Twi language, teaching in the
Bible Institute, helping with the Radio ministry, and working
with the nationals in establishing new mission churches.
